STEPHANIE GEYL POTTERY
BRISTOL POTTER, CREATING HANDMADE STONEWARE CERAMICS FOR THE HOME. MADE TO BE USED & LOVED EVERY DAY
FORM
My work has been influenced by the idea that it’s often the small things that have the biggest impact. Why shout when the subtle, simple but beautiful can say so much? With this in mind, I like to keep my forms simple, and allow the glaze to bring out the beauty of a piece.
WORK
I have been working as a potter in Bristol for ten years, and find great joy in sitting at the wheel, allowing the clay to take amazing new forms through simple changes in technique. The pleasure that comes from turning a lump of clay into something beautiful and useful never fails to inspire me.
WHERE TO FIND ME
My pieces can be found in various shops and gallery spaces throughout Bristol, or are available to buy direct on my website.
I sell monthly at the Frome Independent - first Sunday of the month (Mar - Dec), and take part in the North Bristol Arts Trail, as well as events such as the Made in Bristol Gift Fair, Bovey Tracey Craft Festival, and the Somerset Collective pop-up shops. I also teach pottery classes in Bristol, at Zed Alley ClayHouse.
